Travel & Lodging

Travel Note

Welcome to Denver!

We're so glad you can join us. We have listed some tips here for your travel, but please let us know if you have any questions on how to get where you need to go. If possible, we would highly suggest you take the time to spend a few days in the mountains if you can. There is so much to do and see, we truly hope you take the time to experience some of the best of what Colorado has to offer. In addition, more time at elevation will improve your acclimation to ensure you are feeling good for our big day!

Travel Note

Caution: Altitude

Our wedding ceremony is taking place at ~12,000 feet in elevation, and our reception around ~9,300 feet. In addition, while driving from Denver to Keystone, depending on your route, you will reach elevations of at least ~11,000 feet. Please be mindful that some visitors, particularly those from sea level, may experience altitude sickness, especially in their first night at elevation. We recommend drinking ample water and avoiding alcohol in your first 24 hours!

Flight

Denver

As one of the busiest airports in the country, Denver is a reliable option to fly. We would suggest travelers from the New York area in particular check United for plenty of options out of LaGuardia and Newark, though all major airlines work well.

Rental Car

Denver (Airport)

All major rental car agencies have reliable hubs at Denver Airport. The drive from DIA to Keystone is ~60-90 minutes without traffic depending on road conditions. Friday evening and Sunday afternoon/evening may be slow going on the I-70 mountain corridor, as this is peak fall colors season with many travelers heading to the mountains. Our wedding is before major snow risk, but please be aware of road conditions heading into the mountains, September snowstorms are not unheard of and I-70 may become slick, particularly around the Eisenhower tunnel due to extreme elevation and steep grades. We will communicate with our guests should any major weather impacts be expected. We would suggest those unfamiliar with mountain driving remain on I-70 through exit 205, rather than taking exit 216 to Loveland Pass. However, if you are driving in daylight, fair weather, and are comfortable with roads with exposure and altitude, taking Loveland Pass is an incredibly scenic route. For those who would not like to drive, the Epic Mountain Express Shuttle can provide direct door to door service between DIA and Keystone.
