Bobby and Jess’ story is that of a romance separated by a river. The Hudson River. Though Bobby was living in Hoboken and Jess was residing in the West Village, their dating app distance filters were just close enough to set them up for a match. The next 2(ish) years saw them cross the river to bring each other into their respective worlds. Bobby gained access to the culture, cuisine, and glamour of the West Village. Jess got lost on The PATH. The relationship continued to blossom over a shared love of comedy, tacos, and writing about themselves in the third person. They also bonded over both having immigrant parents — Bobby’s from Russia and Ukraine, Jess’ from South Africa and Chicago. Together, they traveled the world eating pasta on cliffs, watching the sun set on America, and relaxing on the beach with flamingos. When the time came to move in together, Jess brought Bobby to the promised land — The Upper West Side. While things were going well, there were dark times too, like on a leg of their road trip to Maine where they recognized it was best if they were never hangry at the same time and committed to always having granola bars on hand. After many trials and tribulations, the two agreed that it would be in their best interest to spend the rest of their lives together. To that end, they are endlessly excited to spend an evening in March with their friends and family consecrating their union on the banks of the Hudson, which once divided them, but now serves as a reminder that there ain’t no river wide enough to keep them apart.
