The wedding will be on Saturday. The Ranch is ours all weekend and has lots of activities for all ages! There will also be a welcome hootenanny on Friday night!
Denver International Airport would be the easiest to fly to from out of town.
Rental cars are the best option to have your own way around to explore. If you prefer to have transport, Home James Shuttle Service is available. I have a sign up for anyone wanting to share a ride or Home James does have a private ride shuttle if enough people want to share a shuttle ride!
We have 2 room blocks both listed in the travel portion of website. Grand Mountain Rentals also has some great vacation rental options close to the ranch. Airbnb (home away) and VRBO also have other options for rental cabins, houses and condos.
Yes! We love this venue because camping is an option. Camping is $20 a night for either a full camp setup (easy up and tent) or camper. There are showers on site and places to get ready!
Yes! If you prefer to use your camper or RV instead of tent camping you certainly can do that. The same rules as camping. There are not any hookups but you may utilize the area for camping to park the RV or camper. $20 per day.
We have a room block at both Gateway Inn and Western Riviera in Grand Lake. The rooms are blocked under Bobay/Spurlock Wedding so you will have to call the hotels directly to book the room you would like. Western Riviera: (970) 627-3580 Gateway Inn: (970) 627-2400
Cocktail Attire or Semi- Formal. This is a celebration to dress up! No need for black tie it’s still on a ranch with lots of music. Wear what makes you feel beautiful or handsome. The reception is tented/barn so I’m closed but lots of unpaved areas. Make sure shoes are comfortable and okay for walking small distances.
Rocky Mountain Summer can be unpredictable. This is a high altitude so it can be very hot during the day and quite chilly at night. Plan to have at least a sweater to throw on when it is time to hang by the outdoor fire. You can also bring hats or coats if you are afraid it may get too cold. Make sure you are comfortable!
It is summer time in the Rocky Mountains so the weather can change a bit throughout the day. Daytime weather is typically hot. It is a high altitude and dry heat so please be prepared and drink lots of water and wear sunscreen. Rain is always a possibility so not a bad idea to have a small umbrella. It can be chilly at night. We will have outdoor fires, so bring something cozy to put on in the evening.
If you are not used to high altitude please be sure to take precautions so that you do not get altitude sickness! If you are flying out and have the time it may be in your benefit to spend a night in Denver to help your body acclimate before traveling further into the mountains. Be sure to drink lots and lots of water. Advil or IBU Profen can be helpful in keeping you from experiencing effects of altitude. You can also purchase cans of oxygen on Amazon or other stores that carry that. We will have liquid oxygen which will help if anyone needs that. We will also have a few cans of oxygen for emergencies. We want you to have fun and not feel sick, so be sure to take the precautions to keep yourself feeling good and ready to celebrate!
