We are getting married!!

We met way back in high school. Jody attended Greeley West and Bob, Greeley Central. Bob briefly dated Jody's best friend and they went on a double date with Jody and her date, to the Armadillo. That was the meeting. From there, Jody and Bob hung out a few times, but that was that. Fast forward only 42 short years... Through the blessing (in this case) of Facebook, we were FB friends and reconnected! We long distance dated for several months and finally decided to meet in person. It has been a most unlikely, yet the most unique and incredible love story! We are so happy and amazed how all of this has come together in such a beautiful way!

With Jody's daughter, Ashley, studying abroad in Italy, we planned an April 2023 trip to visit her in Florence. This was a unexpected dream realized as neither of us had a strong desire to travel to Europe. We spent most of our week long visit in Florence seeing the sites and spending time with Ashley. We took two day trips, one to Cinque Terre and another to Venice. Both were beautiful and amazing! When you go to Venice, considered by many to be the most romantic city in the world, Bob had ideas for making the proposal there. On the scheduled day to go to Venice neither of us felt great and we decided to cancel. So the proposal seemingly not going to happen without the Venice trip, what would Bob do? We decided to take the Venice trip the next day as it was the "big" trip within the trip. We had booked a gondola ride in Venice and while floating the Grand Canal, April 5, 2023 in Venice, Italy on one knee in a gondola, Bob asked Jody if she would marry him... thank God, she said yes!!!!
