Grace's favorite sandwich shop in town. Old timey, ice cream parlor feel to it. Great ice cream!
If you want a simple, yet GOOD breakfast. Go here! They have great coffee with muffins, croissants, etc.. They do also serve light lunches if this is something that suits your fancy.
This is a classic, short and simple hiking trip you can take without it being too rough or strenuous. We have traveled just outside of town for this many times just for fun and to be above the trees. Take some time to relax up here and rejuvenate, you will feel so much better.
Stroll around Downtown and see what you see. You will see a few resturants, clothing stores, the jerky store, little wine tastings from a couple different wineries in the area, the Dahlonega Gold Museum, and of course, the General Store. Our Little Mountain Town really is a special one.
I know we will all be here for the celebration and ceremony, but you should stop by the Winery's Tasting Room. It is stunning inside and quite comfortable with our velvet and leather couches alongside our new fireplace. We are curious which wine you find you like best.
Only place you can find Guinness on tap! Great drinks, yummy food, good atmosphere. If you do stop by, try the "Crack Dip" (nickname for the southwest sausage dip), you'll be hooked.
Fancier bar food, fancier drinks and both are really good. Burgers and appetizers are probably the best items on the menu.
The Military College of Georgia. Campus is literally right off of the Downtown Square (within walking distance) No need to drive, stretch your legs! Go see our Drill Field, where we have our military parades in the center of campus and see our shiny gold steeple on top of Price Memorial. (It is all real Dahlonega Gold.) We love our Little Mountain Town that our school sits in.
