Things To Do

Exploring new neighborhoods and venturing around different parts of the city is one of our favorite activities. If you have time, we've listed some of our favorite spots below. We hope you enjoy your NYC weekend as much as we always do!

Fort Greene Park

Fort Greene/Clinton Hill is the neighborhood we found a sublet in when we first moved to Brooklyn and we loved it so much, we ended up staying put. We love strolling through the park on Saturday mornings, there's a great farmers market and lots of fun vendors. If you're hungry after your stroll, grab brunch at Walter's across from the park or walk up DeKalb Avenue for your pick of cuisine, we happen to love the Mediterranean spot Miss Ada. Don't forget to grab a cappuccino and a treat at another of our favorites, Saraghina Caffe (they also have amazing pizza)!

Cobble Hill

About a ten minute walk from the Marriott is this brownstone lined neighborhood filled with restaurants and boutique shopping. We love walking up and down its streets admiring the homes, window shopping, or popping into Books are Magic, one of Rachel's favorite bookstores. On Court Street is also one of our all time favorite cocktail bars, The Clover Club. This was the very first spot we went to when we moved here, and we still find ourselves stopping in for a drink whenever we're in the area!

North Brooklyn

Williamsburg and Greenpoint are two great neighborhoods filled with fun places to eat and explore. Head to Talea Beer Co, NYC's first women-owned brewery and taproom, where Rachel also worked as a server! If this gets you in a beer-drinking mood, also check out Radegast, an awesome biergarten we visit to hang out with friends and hear live music. We did get engaged in Germany after all!

Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan

Dave loves riding his bike across the Brooklyn Bridge on the weekends, and it's gorgeous to walk across as well! Rent a Citi bike or take a stroll and enjoy the view. Once in Manhattan, there are endless opportunities to explore. Head to the Bowery Hotel for our favorite hotel bar, and also where Dave sipped champagne after buying Rachel's engagement ring! And if you happen to find yourself with a sweet tooth, head to Cafe Panna, our favorite ice cream in the city.

New York's Finest

Some of the city's best offerings are not far! Russ and Daughters is nearby in the Brooklyn Navy Yard for your bagel and lox fix, and we love Mile End Delicatessen for your NYC deli needs!
