What's the best way to RSVP? When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP online through our website. We would appreciate your RSVP by June 1st, 2023.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Yes! Please fill out the RSVP card with your date or guest's name so we can accommodate them for the reception.

Is there a suggested dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal. Think summer cocktail attire like cocktail dresses, sundresses, and jumpsuits, light suits or light fabric. We understand that your are traveling to celebrate this big moment in our lives so we would like you to feel comfortable in whatever attire you choose. Harbor Haus is an indoor/outdoor venue on Lake Superior. The grass may be soft, so be careful if you plan to wear stilettos. We are anticipating a warm day that will cool when the sun sets. You may want to bring sunglasses and an additional layer as it may get cold after sunset by the lake. Feel free to bring a hat. Sunblock and bug spray will be provided.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! We have secured a block of room at the Country Inn and Suites, Houghton. You have until June 1st to claim a spot. Use discount code "ZhangWedding" before June 1st to be a part of the room block. However, if you want to be closer to the venue there are some lovely cabins in Copper Harbor available to you as well as local Airbnb's. Please refer to the transportation section.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

On average, the weather in Copper Harbor in July is in the 70s-80s in the afternoon and may cool down to the low 60's or high 50's at night, especially by the lake.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The Ceremony will start at 3:30pm. Feel free to arrive anytime after 3 pm so you have time to relax before the ceremony starts. If you are planning to take the wedding bus, the bus will leave the hotel, Country Inn & Suites Houghton, at 2pm.

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes! Parking is available at the venue.

How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes, a shuttle will leave the Country Inn and Suites hotel at 2 pm. The drive from Houghton to the venue is around an hour. If you run into any issues, please contact someone in the bridal party or one of the groomsman.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please fill out the RSVP form with any food allergies and dietary restrictions. We will do our best to accommodate your needs with the menu.

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both! There will be a covered venue, but there is also plenty of great outdoor space, including a pier and a small beach. Dinner will be served inside followed by dancing.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, we're covering the bar, but please feel free to bring cash to tip the bartender.

When will the reception end? Will there be an after-party?

Answer

The reception will end at midnight. The bus will start shuttling people back to the Country Inn and Suites from 9 pm to midnight. If you would like to keep the celebration going feel free to check out local bars in Copper Harbor or Houghton. Please be advised that there are no Ubers or Lyfts in Houghton and Copper Harbor.

What health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?

For everyone's safety, we request that all guests be vaccinated against COVID 19.

I'm visiting from out of town. What can I do while I'm in Houghton?

Answer

Check out the "Things to Do" section where we detail stuff that we have enjoyed as a couple when we visit Houghton. We love the UP; it's often our time to reconnect as a couple and unwind from the city. We hope you enjoy all of the beauty the UP has to offer!

Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We will have a table at the venue if you would like to give your gift in person. However, we detailed on our Wedding Registry that you may also ship your item to us ahead of time so you don't have to worry about carrying it.
