We're Getting Married!

We met through a mutual friend online almost 9 years ago. We were all discussing creative writing tactics and almost instantly; Bo and I became frequent writers. It was not long before we had exchanged phone numbers and found each other on the phone for 4-8 hours at a time. We did not require constant communication, but it was something as simple as being there for each other without needing to talk that made us feel safe and comfortable. After almost 7 years of talking through the phone and online, we decided it was time to meet up. Taking time off work and planning a trip, Bo drove 9 hours to reach the destination and rushed into the Airbnb through the back door. Of course, my first words to him were "What are you doing? They have a front door!". Instantly, we both felt excited, delighted, safe, and most of all comfortable. Almost as if we had seen each other a million times before. After he left, our 4-hour calls turned into 10-hour calls, and our check-in texts became sharing locations. Finally, our long-distance friendship turned into forever and more. Not long after this moment, I went down to Alabama to stay for a few weeks. Getting to see Bo in all of his moods was a new experience for me. However, no matter how upset he was after work, I could see his eyes notice me, and his stress just fade away. The simple tasks of taking care of each other are the part of our days that we love the most. I was staying up late or waking up early just to make sure that Bo had a lunch that consisted of anything BUT his ramen noodles. I didn't have to, but I wanted to. Just as Bo did not have to wake up at 6 am to get ready for work and come and see me before he went on his day but he did. It goes as simple as saying "If he wanted to, he would". I am beyond excited to live my life with this man and watch as we grow as not only people but as a couple as well.
