We recognize a lot of you are traveling in, so firstly, we'd like to express our appreciation for anyone taking the time to come up. We suggest flying, but it should be early enough to drive the passes that snow isn't an issue. If you are driving, we suggest keeping an eye on the weather just in case.
The Seattle area is known for its gray and rainy weather. Consider bringing an umbrella and/or a rain jacket. It will be too early for any chance of snow, but expect to see all the wonderful warm autumn colors.
We encourage cocktail attire but aren't picky. Just follow the obvious, such as no white dress or jeans. Nothing new is required, but if you're looking for a new outfit, David's Bridal encourages account sharing, so use the bride's phone number for a discount!
Our ceremony location has street parking, there should be plenty of spots for all our guests. At the absolute worst, there's a park just down the street with extra parking. For our reception, parking is admittedly trickier, and if you don't mind walking a little, it might be wise to take the light rail to the nearest stop. With the event center reserved on a Monday afternoon, there should be less crowd to fight against for the small parking in the back. Be aware that the door in the back is upstairs, for handicap be sure to enter around the front.
For the ceremony, we are looking to start at one, but we will have the space earlier, so feel free to come on time, or enjoy the atmosphere early. For our reception, dinner service will start at five, so please be in your seat when it is time to eat.
We will be kicking folks out of the ceremony at 3 PM in order to clean-up and travel to the reception. If you're take the light rail to/from reception, we recommend leaving by 9 PM to assure you can catch the train, we will do last call shortly before that.
It was a lot of work to find our ideal location, especially during November when outside is not an option in Washington. We found our two spots at a great price, but neither had enough space to work in the ceremony and reception. Sadly, our ceremony is a much smaller space, so we have to limit guests, but we hope you'll all join us in celebrating at the reception.
We often get asked this as we are getting married on a Monday. November 10th was our original dating anniversary, so we decided to keep that as our marriage anniversary. It happens to be a holiday weekend, so it worked out well to get everyone together.
