Our wedding is formal attire, which we feel will be the perfect match for our venue. We'd love to see our guests in polished, elegant outfits! For gentlemen: Dark suits with a tie or bow tie For ladies: A floor-length gown. Classic fabrics like satin or chiffon. As a reminder, our ceremony will be held in a church, so we kindly ask guests to dress appropriately out of respect for the setting. If you're wearing a dress, consider adding a shawl if needed. That said, we know the black tie fashion offers many ways to celebrate in style. If you'd like, feel free to bring a second formal outfit to change into for the reception - whether it's a more playful gown, a statement look, or something that allows for easier movement on the dance floor. We are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. We want our wedding to be a special day shared with our closest friends and family, so we've kept our guest list intimate and aren't able to accommodate additional guests. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 PM at The Basilica of Saint Mary. We kindly ask guests to arrive by 3:45 PM to allow time to park, find a seat, and settle in before the processional begins. Parking in Old Town Alexandria can be limited, so we recommend arriving early or using a rideshare service if possible.
After the ceremony in Alexandria, guests will have about an hour before the reception begins. This time accounts for the travel—it takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to drive to the reception venue in Chantilly. Guests will have the option to ride the provided shuttle from the church or drive themselves to The Bellevue Conference & Events Center. Directions and parking info will be shared closer to the date.
We will be providing shuttle transportation from the ceremony in Alexandria to the reception in Chantilly for all guests who prefer not to drive. If you’d like to use the shuttle, we recommend Ubering or getting dropped off at the church—parking in Old Town Alexandria can be tricky. There are parking garages nearby if you choose to drive, but street parking is limited. Guests who plan to drive to the reception may leave their vehicles overnight at The Bellevue and return the next day to pick them up. We’ll share exact shuttle times and parking details as the date approaches!
