Minnewaska State Park Preserve
One of NYS best state parks & one of our favorite place to hike, bike & swim. Over 50 miles of carriage roads & footpaths. Home to Lake Minnewaska & Lake Awosting (heaven on earth), Awosting, Rainbow & Stonykill waterfalls, iconic views and endless wondering! 10$ entrance fee per car if non member
Sam's Point Area of Minnewaska State Park Preserve
Pitch Pine barrens, footpaths, sky lakes and views like no other. Miles of trails, ice caves & waterfalls. Most notably a 3 mile loop bringing you to the highest point in the Shawangunk Mountains. This is Melissa’s favorite place on the planet. 10$ entrance fee per car for non members. RESERVATIONS are required for the weekend which can be made on the NYS parks website above.
Mohonk Preserve
So many trailheads to choose from! Rock Scramble up Bonticou Craig and walk through fields of wildflowers at Spring Farm Trailhead. Do a leisurely 5 mile loop through the West Trapps walking beneath climbers in one of the most famous rock climbing areas in the world. Go swimming at Split Rock at the Coxing Trailhead. So many options for hiking and biking in the Shawangunks at a number of Mohonk Preserve spots! 15$ entrance fee per person if not a member.
Mohonk Preserve Testimonial Gateway
The old entrance up to Mohonk Mountain House now part of Mohonk Preserve. This NYS bird watching trail is a 3 mile loop through Oak Tree Alley, fields of wildflowers and past some friendly cows & pigs. This is Melissa’s favorite golden hour walk.
Mohonk Mountain House
National Historic Hotel of America with over 80 miles of hiking & biking trails, rock scrambles, gardens, lake with boating and award winning cuisine and spa. The place where Brandon and Melissa met working. Let us know if you’re interested in a day at Mohonk and we can arrange it!
Wallkill Valley Rail Trail
22 mile long flat gravel trail spanning from Gardiner to Kingston. Perfect for running, biking or leisurely walk. Bikes are for rent at the River to Ridge trailhead in New Paltz
Arrowood Farms
Our favorite brewery & distillery. Beer & spirits made onsite and sourced from small, local New York farms. Locally-inspired comfort foods, beautiful space and live music!
Gunks Disc Golf
Our favorite game to play together- golf with a frisbee! This beautiful 18 “hole” course at Majestic Park in Gardiner trails through woods, fields of wildflowers, along rivers ending with a gorgeous view of the ridge. Gotta bring your own discs, we’re more than happy to share ours if interested!
