Our Story

It all began with some help of a dating website during COVID. Tyler and I first began talking in June of 2020, where we spent several weeks getting to know each other before he asked me out on a date. We had dinner on the pier at Maynard's in Excelsior, which ended with a walk downtown. It was during that walk, on our first date, that Tyler reached to hold my hand and I felt like we had known each other for years. He made me feel like I could be myself around him and I was truthfully a little shocked by how comfortable it felt. During that first date I realized I could picture our future together. Tyler was patient and persistent in pursuing me, even during my final semester of nursing school in Virginia! From a date in the vineyards of Richmond, to a surprise trip to Boston, Tyler and I continued to strengthen our relationship. He flew to see me, despite a strong dislike of flying; which to this day, still shows how much he cared for me even in the early stages. He knew my dreams of moving to pursue a career as an emergency department nurse and suggested a trip to Colorado. This trip made me realize how much I wanted to move to Colorado. Although Colorado would be several states (and hours of flying) away from Minnesota, Tyler supported and encouraged my decision. We became an official "couple" in April of 2021 and took monthly trips back and forth until February of 2022. Once I moved back to Minnesota, we bought our current home in Champlin together. Going from states away, to renovating a house side-by-side, I joke that our relationship can withstand anything. Tyler continued to impress me with his dedication in learning new things and handiwork throughout the remodeling of our home. We enjoyed the challenge that came with the “dirty work” and can see ourselves moving and doing it all again in the near future! The addition of Riah (our bernedoodle) was another big change in our lives. We loved learning to train her together and build our little family. She is well loved and definitely spoiled. Fast forward through the past 3 years,Tyler decided he wanted to officially ask me to become his wife. On a weekend trip to the cabin in Hayward, WI, he proposed on the dock surrounded by sunshine and waves. A new favorite place became even more special, knowing one day we could show our kids where we got engaged. From the engagement, to now planning the wedding, we are so excited to celebrate with our loved ones. Thank you to all our family and friends for how much love and support you have poured into our relationship. We are so ready for October 10th, 2025 to come! We look forward to sharing our vows and committing to one another for many years to come.
