We were scheduled to buy our home a little after noon and could not have been more excited. James had taken off that day and had showed up to the bank to pick Erin up for the closing. Little did she know what else he had planned for her, although he had told her boss. (He was just too excited!) This day was already so special because we were buying our first home from James’ grandparents (also, our best man) and had been living and making memories in it since November of the year prior. We were so ready to start this new chapter of our lives. After we finished at the closing, his grandparents followed us home to take pictures of us in front of our new home! After a few photos, they asked us to get in front of our beautiful crape myrtle bush. James acted as if he needed to tie his shoe and instead pulled out a ring box from the side of his pant leg. I was so shocked. I had been begging for James to ask me to marry him since about 3 months into our relationship. I had dreamed of this day since our first date at Putt-Putt while we were racing go karts. I was speechless, jumping up and down, and just in pure disbelief. (Look at our photos page for the exact moment it happened!) As he was down on one knee, he said “I know we have just made a huge commitment, but will you make the biggest commitment with me?” And of course, I said yes!
