FAQs

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Once we send out formal invitations (expect them this fall) you will be able to RSVP here on our website!

Question

Is there a shuttle to Oak + Ivy?

Answer

If you are staying at the Hampton Inn or Comfort Suites, then yes. If you have made arrangements to stay elsewhere, then you will need to find your own transportation to the venue. If you are driving yourself, please note that Oak + Ivy does not permit overnight parking.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

We will be providing transportation to and from the wedding venue on Saturday if you stay at one of the hotel blocks. If you are attending the Welcome Party on Friday, you will need to make the short five minute drive or call a readily available Uber/Lyft.

Question

Do you have hotel blocks for guests?

Answer

Yes! We have reserved room blocks for our guests at the Hampton Inn and the Comfort Suites hotels. For more information, please see the Travel tab.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is black tie preferred. This means that you should wear the nicest clothing you have easy access to. If you don’t already have a tuxedo or floor-length gown, a nice cocktail dress or suit is perfectly acceptable.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your kids, in order to give our guests (and parents!) a night of relaxation, we respectfully request no children under 16 at our wedding.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors? What will the weather be like?

Answer

Weather in North Texas is very unpredictable and the temperature in December can vary between 85° and 35°. Despite this, we are planning for an outdoor ceremony, to be followed by an indoor reception. Cocktail hour will be hosted in a covered patio with a bar located inside. Should the weather not be cooperative, we have a plan to make sure no one is left in the rain or cold.

Question

Will we be able to pet the horses next door?

Answer

There is a horse farm next to the venue, and the horses are usually out an about during the day. As much as we want to, we cannot advise you to interact with the horses in the adjacent farm. They are quite arrogant and will only show disdain to those who try to approach them.
