Morgan and Jacob met back in middle school, but their friendship grew once entering high school and running track together. Morgan knew there was something different and special about Jacob in high school, but he was a little slower to figure it out. They maintained that friendship through high school and into college, only briefly losing contact. When they ran into each other again at Chicago's Pizza, they began talking again and picked up where they left off, but Jacob still wasn't convinced that Morgan liked him at this point. They would talk nearly every day for the next few years and would hang out occasionally. After 10 years, when Morgan was about to move away for school, he realized how much he liked her and that he had one last chance to say something before she left. Having had issues with previous long-distance relationships, Jacob was hesitant to act on his feelings with the risk of losing this friendship if it didn’t work. Jacob finally, after being annoyed, reassured, and encouraged by family, friends, and Morgan, made a decision. Jacob proposed in December 2020 and they will have spent their entire engagement separated by almost 500 miles. Despite being apart, they have grown closer than they could have imagined with weekly date nights and making sure that when they are together, their time is focused on them and being present in that moment. All of the decisions, patience, and hardships have led them to where they are today and they are continuing to write their own story. They cannot wait for this next adventure together, and to see what God has in store for their future.
