Our happy place. We’re proud members of the Art Institute and highly recommend spending a free morning or afternoon wandering the halls gawking at pieces from the Renaissance, Impressionists, or the vast contemporary collection (our favorite). Best place to spend a cozy snowy day!
A Chicago institution! A fun sight to see if weather allows. The MLB offers official tours that run through the off season and winter months, or you can do a perimeter sweep for free and grab a brew at the Cubby Bear across the street. Fun fact: our first apartment together was a 15 minute walk from Wrigley! Go Cubs!
Another go-to winter activity. Defrost with this exquisite collection of flora. Note that reservations are free, but required!
While the boat tours (including the famous architecture tour) will be closed until May, we still recommend taking a stroll along the river walk! The city dyes the river green for St. Patrick’s Day, which is a unique sight to see (and it will be less crowded than summer months). :)
Dovetail is one of the most locally loved breweries in town, and started what’s now known as “Malt Row,” a row of many local breweries. A fun area to spend the day!
Rooftop bar at the Robey Hotel and one of our favorite cocktail bars in our neighborhood. Has the best view of the city! You don’t need to have a reservation at the hotel to visit. :)
