Love Story...

first comes school, then comes a few years in between, then comes marriage

Some call it coincidence, some call it fate, and some call it serendipity, we call it our love story which began in between the cold seats of high school trigonometry class. He was looking over my shoulder (not in the way you think) he was looking for test answers. In these classes, there were a series of moments where conversations felt strange as if they were supposed to mean something more but we could not pinpoint it then. We almost went to prom together but fate wouldn't have it. Later finding out our paths could have crossed in middle school and in college, our paths didn't cross again until years later in 2020. We were both crossing a crowded street on Brickell Ave to get to our destinations and coincidently bumped into each other (Serendipity!) . Neither of us could believe it but we started to catch up briefly and went our separate ways. This sparked what we didn't know then would lead to our forever love story. After a few months of cat and mouse, it wasn't until our sunrise date in January 2021 that we felt inseparable and have never left each others side since. Forever starts right now... <3

The Proposal

from sunrise to sunset, forevermore

In Josephs true fashion, on a random day in April, he asked me if I wanted to go watch the sunrise the upcoming Saturday. I found it strange considering we hadn't watched the sunrise since that day back in January, 2021. I, of course, would never say no to a sunrise since it is one of my favorite things to do so we finalized the plan for our sunrise date. All week we were looking forward to the date... and some clues were spilled but I was still in denial and did not want to get my hopes up. At around 5am on Saturday, April 7th, 2024, we headed towards Miami Beach to relive one of our very first dates. With Josephs nerves creeping up and my expectations low, we spent our time sitting on the sand and admiring the waves. Joseph had brought his drone (which I had found sketchy from the beginning) and left to go set it up and take some videos. I remained enjoying the view until he finally tapped me and when I turned around, there he was asking me to marry him!!! Before he could get all the words out, I hit the drone with my knee and it went flying (whoops there goes our photos!) but we continued and enjoyed our moments together... newly engaged! We finally got up to look for the drone which we thankfully found in one of the lifeguard posts... OMG. We laughed about it and took in our moments when later a photographer approached us (unplanned) to take photos of our engagement. We couldn't believe it but it was perfect. Our intimate engagement day continued with a dip in the water, lunch at Smith & Wolensky, and a mini engagement celebration with both of our families where we had a small toast and of course rewatched and laughed at the drone footage which you can find a portion of the video featured above. Oh, and most importantly, I said YES!

The Wedding

10.11.25

Our wedding will take place on October 11, 2025 in our home parish, St. Louis Catholic Church, surrounded by our closest family and friends before God. We will later head to Coral Gables, the City Beautiful, for further celebration at our reception. We love the romantic charm of the gables and the idea of keeping our wedding close to home. We cannot wait to bring our family and friends together and share this day with you!
