Two years before their first date, Charlie and Blakeley met while floating the Salt River with friends on a super hot Arizona summer day and Charlie could not take his eyes off her the entire time. Even after everyone parted ways after getting back from the river Charlie continued to admire Blakeley from afar on social media as he knew there was something very special about her. Two years went by and one day Charlie decided he was going to ask Blakeley out. He sent her a message on Instagram asking if she wanted to go to Buffalo Chip Saloon with him as he knew they both enjoyed country dancing. She agreed and he picked her up that Saturday night for the beginning of what was about to become a magical journey for the two of them. They danced the night away and before Charlie dropped her off back at her place, they shared their first kiss essentially solidifying that the feelings that Charlie had for her were mutual. After two more years of adventure, dancing, and traveling together, they knew that they couldn't imagine life without each other and were very excited to start building a future together.
Charlie knew that he wanted to marry Blakeley, but he wanted to propose to her in the most memorable way possible. After getting the perfect ring, they had planned a trip to Nashville, Tennessee to explore the country music scene and visit a place neither of them had been to before. Charlie knew that was the perfect place to pop the question. After a weekend of country dancing which had ignited their love in the first place, Charlie was figuring out the best time/place to propose while carrying the ring around with him the entire day. Sunday night after they had dinner, Charlie walked with Blakeley to Centennial Park as he knew it would be the romantic and intimate setting he was looking for. Once he found the perfect spot, he got down on one knee and asked Blakeley to marry him. She said yes without any hesitation and they immediately told their friends and family the news shortly after they got back to Arizona.
