North Loop Restaurants & Shops
There are many amazing restaurants, breweries and shops in the North Loop neighborhood in Minneapolis. The link here provides a full directory, however a few of our favorites include Spyhouse Coffee, Backstory Coffee Roasters, Bar La Grassa, and NOLO's kitchen and bar. You will find plenty of clothing boutiques & shops in the area as well.
Stone Arch Bridge
A scenic spot within walking distance form the recommended Hewing Hotel; the Stone Arch Bridge is a former railroad bridge crossing the Mississippi River at Saint Anthony Falls in downtown Minneapolis. It is the only arched bridge made of stone on the entire Mississippi River and a great place for a stroll on the way to the nearby shops & restaurants.
Walker Art Center
The Walker Art Center is a contemporary art center in Minneapolis. In addition to the many rotating art exhibits, it also has an adjacent outdoor sculpture garden.
Bde Maka Ska
Bde Maka Ska is one of our favorite lakes in the area. You can enjoy a walk around the lake, a picnic in the grassy areas, or biking/canoe rentals.
Lake Harriet
A short journey away from Bde Maka Ska is another one of our favorite lakes, both of which are a part of Minneapolis' chain of lakes. Lake Harriet is a great place to enjoy all of the Summer outdoor activities and take in the scenery. If you make it to this one, be sure to grab ice cream at Sebastian Joe's or brunch at Zumbro Cafe in the adjacent Linden Hills neighborhood.
