The Wedding Website of Blake Whitmire and Natalie Russell
Otto Fischer donated land to the society in 1897, where they built a dance hall and a nine-pin bowling alley. Built in 1908, Fischer Hall was constructed with a vaulted ceiling that didn’t need support posts, to maximize the open space for dancing. Pine boards were soaked in water until they were pliable, and then bent into arches that would support the metal roof. There are several old dance halls in this part of Texas that were built with similar construction. Several scenes from Willie Nelson’s movie “Honeysuckle Rose” was filmed on location here

Jake Penrod

Jake Penrod is a singer, composer, songwriter, and band leader from the Piney Woods of East Texas. Playing the piano since age five and teaching himself guitar at nine, he’s now a multi-instrumentalist whose most recent accolade is a nomination for the Austin Chronicle’s best country artist of the year. In 2017, he was given the Ameripolitan Music Award for Honky Tonk Male. In 2015, he was recognized as the Academy of Western Artists’ Pure Country Male Vocalist of the Year. His songs have been covered by Joey Allcorn, Lonnie Spiker, and the Country Side of Harmonica Sam. He’s worked with and played with some of the greats- Ray Price, Charlie Pride, Asleep at the Wheel, Dale Watson, Bobby Flores, Johnny Lee, Bobby Bare, Moe Bandy, Jody Nix, Two Tons of Steel, Johnny Bush, Earl Poole Ball, and T. Graham Brown, to name a few.

Rent Party hit the Austin swing jazz scene in 2015 and has since played countless bars, clubs, dances and private events in an around the city and beyond. Comprised of an eclectic group of Austin transplants, Rent Party brings a unique blend of players from varied musical backgrounds and influences. This diversity manifests in a fresh blend of hot jazz, vintage swing, and jazz manouche.

Leaving behind a corporate finance career in Cairo, KG moved to Austin, Texas in 2016 to follow his passion for BBQ and smoking meats. After graduating from culinary school and learning from the best pit masters in Austin, KG is here to bring the flavors of Egypt and the Middle East to our beloved Texas BBQ.
