This is for sure a favorite place to visit for the full Boulder experience! Right in the heart of downtown Boulder, Pearl street is the place to be for foodies, shoppers, and families! We definitely suggest getting some food and strolling around here. Some favorite places to eat there are Westend Tavern, Avanti Food and Beverage, Pizzeria Locale, Brasserie Ten Ten (more expensive), Bohemian Biergarten, The Post Brewing Company, Hapa Sushi, and Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery!
Mia's cousin Jennifer Messinger is the executive pastry chef and co-founder of Lucky's Bakehouse which is the absolute best! Everything is made fresh daily and it is open 7 days a week from 7am - 4pm. We highly recommend the blue corn cookies! This is a happening spot, so make sure to arrive on the early side if you want a choice of all the options available. Jennifer is also now the director of the Lucky's Bakehouse Cafe. The cafe is right across the street from the Bakehouse and is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch. Both have the most amazing food and are always on our list of places to hit when visiting Boulder.
Only about a 15 minute drive from downtown Boulder, Eldorado Canyon State Park is a gorgeous place to hike and picnic! The three main trails are: the Flower Trail (easy), Rattlesnake Gulch Trail (moderate) , and the Eldorado Canyon Trail (difficult). This is an absolutely beautiful place to spend the day!
Chautauqua is the vast area right at the foot of Boulder's Flatirons. Many hiking trails leave from the Chautauqua trailheads and go up into the Flatirons. Whether you would like to kick off a hike here or just enjoy the view of the mountains from the park, this is a gorgeous must-see place! The website linked has a list of hikes from Chautauqua.
This is such a fun spot to bring your family and friends during the summer! It is a beautiful spring water pool nestled in a canyon with views of the foothills. It is currently being renovated, but will be open again in May before our wedding.
RMNP may require some more planning ahead of time during the busy summer months, but if you want to get all you can out of our Colorado wedding then this is the best way to do it. It is about an hour drive from Boulder and usually requires shuttle use to get to the trailheads. We love hiking and we enjoy national parks so much! If you have the time to go here (even for a day), it is so worth it! Linked below is the National Park website with recommended hikes.
If you want to see one of Boulder County's little mountain towns, take about a 30 minute drive out to Nederland! They have some great restaurants, breweries, and hiking. A fantastic and easy trail to hike is the 4.8 mile Caribou Ranch Loop!
As if you haven't received enough hiking recommendations, we wanted to throw in a few more for those who love wildflowers like us! Usually in Boulder, the very first flowers start to appear in the spring and last through the end of October. The wildflowers of course can be seen on most hikes in Colorado, but linked below are some hikes that are the best for some awesome flower views.
