Blake and Madi met through the app Snapchat in March of 2022. Madi was finishing her student teaching and getting ready to graduate college. Blake was in Germany enlisted in the U.S. Army. Blake and Madi talked on FaceTime, and began dating before meeting each other face to face. When we first met each other in person, it was 4 months after FaceTiming and texting when Madi picked him up from the airport for his military leave (2 weeks long). We both always talk about the feeling of meeting each other for the first time at the airport, which was a mix of nerves and excitement! Right when we saw each other we both knew we wanted to get married! We went without seeing each other for as long as 7 months at a time when he returned to the army. Blake remained in the army for about a 1 ½- 2 years after we began dating and then officially was out of the army for good in December of 2023. Funny enough, his little brother was in Madi’s daycare class for a few years, and come to find out, we lived right down the road from each other.
