We met our Junior year in high school; we both had Ms. Burton's Journalism class. He sat directly in front of me and besides the occasional, "Hi." we never spoke to each other. Later on in the school year, out of the blue, he sent a message to me on Myspace (yes, Myspace) saying that he hadn't talked to me in a long time. I thought it was quite hilarious because we had never said anything to each other before then. From then, we hit it off and became the best of friends until we realized that there was more between us the summer of 2009. Through ups and downs, ins and outs, we have remained close and here we are... Madly in Love and Soon To Be Married.
Her side: Blake and I had been invited to a small outdoor concert where one of his friend's were performing... or so I thought. About an hour before the event was to start, Blake told me that he got a call saying they would be moving the event inside because of the weather, but he still wanted to go to Coleman Hill just to walk around. In high school, we would go to Coleman Hill to picnic so he thought it would be a sweet way to kill time. When we got to the park, we walked up the hill to find a man playing a saxophone for his date. How romantic! But as we got closer, the girl turned around and I realized that it was Blake's cousin. She gave me a bouquet of flowers while the saxophonist continued to play. Right then and there, Blake proposed. After saying yes and a few tears, I noticed our family running down the hill with sparklers. Best. Day. Ever. His Side: I purchased the ring ahead of time and had all intentions of proposing at a later date, but I just couldn't wait. I was too excited. When the time came, excitement turned into nervousness.... I was shaking! I had never done anything like this before and I wanted to make sure everything turned out right. When she said, "Yes!" it was the best feeling in the world. I felt like crying, I was so happy. I got my girl. It was the perfect day!
