What should I wear?

Answer

Thanks for asking! The dress code for the wedding is Semi Formal. For women, a midi-length, or ankle-length dress would be perfect. For men, we suggest a suit and tie, or a dress shirt and dress pants with a blazer. We kindly ask that guests please do not wear shorts.

Will the wedding be inside or outside?

Answer

Both! Our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, and the reception will take place inside. The weather in Charleston in late October is typically beautiful, with highs in the mid-70s. However, it can get cool in the evening as temperatures drop to the mid-50s. We recommend bringing a shawl, wrap, or light sweater to stay comfortable during the outdoor portions of our celebration.

Will there be transportation from the hotel to the wedding?

Answer

We have provided an uber voucher for out of town guests who are staying at a hotel. The uber voucher can be found under the Travel tab of the website.

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, The Porter Room has parking spots if you choose to drive.

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Thank you so much for asking! Since the bride works with children all week, we've decided to keep our wedding and reception as an adults-only event so she can relax and celebrate. We hope you can still make it and enjoy a fun night out with us!

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We are only able to accommodate the guests who are formally named on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, their name (or "and Guest") will be listed on your invitation and will appear when you RSVP. Thank you for your understanding!
