Blake and I first crossed paths at a bar on Austin's iconic sixth street. Blake had taken a friend's puppy to try to pick up a girl, and it clearly worked. After some back and forth banter, numbers were exchanged and a first date took place the following week with dinner and drinks. It wasn't long before we both discovered a mutual love for margaritas, travel and local restaurants. We had an immediate connection and both finally understood the "when you know, you know" saying. Two years later we bought a Golden Retriever puppy together (Hudson), have traveled more than we can count and have tried (almost) all the margaritas in Austin. Described by our friends and family as Type A and B, we really do complement each other. I over plan, and Blake is the perfect balance of spontaneous. Blake is originally from the San Francisco bay area, and has ties to Texas on his mom's side. Blake went to college at University of Montana and moved to Austin to be closer to his brother and he always had a special place for Texas. Blake works in project management and loves the quirkiness of Austin. I grew up in New Mexico, and have strong ties to Louisiana as all my extended family lives there. I spent my undergraduate years at New Mexico State University then moved to Baton Rouge for graduate school at LSU. I moved to Austin after school, because it was the perfect mix of my desert roots and southern hospitality. We got engaged February 15, 2020 and couldn't be more excited to tie the knot and have all of our family and friends with us to celebrate. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness!
