Little did Abby know that a girls’ trip to the Cayman Islands would be the first time she heard the name of her future husband. While on that trip, Abby’s friend (you know who you are!) came across Blake’s Hinge profile that mentioned his faith and love for coffee and running. She thought their shared interests could make Abby a great fit for Blake, so she tested her matchmaking skills by sending Blake a funny message which led Blake and Abby to set up their first date. From their first date on, the desire to get to know each other continued to grow. For Abby, her feelings grew quickly as she got to know Blake’s heart for his friends, family and his son, Kayden. For Blake, he admired Abby’s soft & gentle spirit that had a way of connecting with people that he hadn’t seen before. Over the course of the next year, Blake and Abby let God guide their relationship and open their hearts in ways neither of them thought they were ready for. Soon after, Blake arranged a weekend getaway with close friends in Charleston. There he planned a weekend - which Abby thought was just a fun beach weekend with friends – to ask for Abby’s hand in marriage. What started with a surprise proposal on the beach, ended with their closest friends and family gathering in downtown Charleston to surprise Abby. As they prepare for marriage, Blake and Abby look forward to standing before God and joining together as one, surrounded by the people they love. Their prayer is that their wedding day be a celebration of God’s gift of marriage and the community of friends and family who have laughed, grieved, grown, and celebrated alongside them. They are endlessly grateful for the relationships God has used to shape their lives. They can't wait to celebrate with all of you!
