Nicole is Alex's younger sister and best friend. She lives in Lincoln, NE with her two dogs, Peaches and Atticus. Nicole loves to play volleyball with her friends and visit Chicago if it means she can go to Six Flags with Alex! My favorite memory with Alex & Blake is when we all went to the Panic at the Disco! concert at the United Center in Chicago. It was rescheduled because one of the band members got COVID right before the original date, so I had to make two trips to Chicago for it. We had super expensive floor seats, but it was their last tour before the band stopped performing so it was definitely worth it!
Brock Schweiner
Best Man
Brock is Blake’s older brother and best friend. He lives in Marina Del Rey, CA with his husband Matt. Together, the two of them love going to the beach, trying new restaurants, and watching reruns of The Office. My favorite memory with Blake and Alex was a hike Matt and I did with them a few years ago. When we started we knew we only had limited daylight left, but decided to go for it anyway. When we got to the top, we saw that the trail continued further and, of course, chose to see where it led. It ended at the top of Mt. Hollywood, behind the Hollywood sign, with incredible views of the city. But by that time, it was already basically dark, so the hike back turned into a race to the bottom, scrambling over the rocks with only our flashlights to see.

Rachel is one of Alex's best friends, and they have been lucky to spend almost of all of grad school together. She lives in Chicago, IL with her partner, John. Rachel loves to cook and play D&D with friends from all across the country! My favorite memory with Alex and Blake is something they facilitate frequently: opening their front door and being (almost) overwhelmed by the wave of welcome and love. They always adjust the space, snacks, and whiskey discussion to cater to the group / activity, and make it the easiest place to be and make wonderful memories! I will always especially treasure BNB&DND and laughing too much to remember what I planned for us to play.
Wyatt O'Neil

Wyatt is one of Blake’s best friends, and they have known each other since they were in the same kindergarten class. Wyatt lives in Denver, CO with his wife Maggie and dog Herbert. The three of them love spending time outdoors, hiking, and discovering breweries together. My favorite memory with Blake and Alex is from a trip my wife and I took to visit them in Chicago. They didn’t just show us the city, they shared it with us, the way you do when a place feels like home. They took us to a bar we never would’ve found on our own, a place with turtle racing (yes, turtle racing). What started as a casual drink turned into a late-night adventure of cheering on turtles like it was the most important sport in the world. Even more special was getting to spend that night together as couples, talking, laughing, and feeling completely at ease.

Vanessa is Blake's younger sister and Alex could not be more excited to have another sister! She lives in Oak Creek, WI with her fiancé, Danny. Vanessa just got into yoga and loves to go out with her friends in Milwaukee. My favorite memory with Blake and Alex is visiting them in Chicago around Christmas. Danny and I would spend the weekend there, stay at their apartment, and go out together. Wrigleyville had great Christmas bars decorated for the season, where we’d have holiday drinks and dance. The next morning, we’d go out to breakfast at a place they chose. It was always a really special weekend and a great way to get into the holiday spirit.

Ryan is Alex's younger brother and the smartest person you will ever meet. He lives in Lincoln, NE with his partner, Madison, and their cat, Toro. Ryan loves to read and play video games. My favorite memory with Blake and Alex is the trip we took to Cancún together with the rest of Alex’s and my family. We had a great time: ate good food, played board games, relaxed at the pool, and saw the sights like the pyramid at Chichén Itzá. It was awesome spending time with them, and I’m hopeful for many more trips when Blake officially joins the family.
Matthew Schweiner

Matt is Blake's brother-in-law and college roommate. He lives in Marina del Rey, CA with his husband, Brock. Matt loves to run and rewatch sitcoms. My favorite memory with Alex and Blake was when they were visiting LA with Blake’s family and we all were heading out for drinks. Because there were so many of us, we had to take two cars and we were on a MISSION to beat Brock in his fancy new BMW. So we saddled up in Rhonda the Honda, blasted Baby by Justin Bieber, and leaned forward the whole drive there convinced that it would get us there faster. And we WON!
Andrew Pfluger

Andrew is one of Blake’s best friends, growing up just down the road from each other. Andrew lives in Seymour, WI with his wife Ava, two daughters, Jenny and Rosalie, and their dog Rosie. They love spending time as a family at off-road races and vacationing in Florida. My memories from the early days of Blake & Alex's relationship include a sweltering day at the off road truck races in Elk River, MN and disc golfing with friends! Over the years we have enjoyed the friendly competition of fantasy football and rooting for opposing Midwest sports teams. I was concerned it may all come to an end over a game of Codenames, but fortunately that turned out to be good natured competitiveness and pushing each other to succeed and grow. I'm honored and excited to celebrate their marriage with everyone this year!
