Q & A

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! BLACK - We're asking ALL of our guests to dress in ALL BLACK formal or cocktail attire. (A black suit with a white shirt works!)

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

We're leaving it up to the parents! If attending our destination wedding means you will be bringing your kids along, then they are more than welcome to join you. We'd much rather have our loved ones attend our wedding with your children, than not attend it without. With that being said, we do plan to party well into the early morning hours and oftentimes kids can be a drag... We want everyone to be able to enjoy themselves, so please keep that in mind! Our welcome party on Saturday, will be an adults only event. *Please communicate your plans with us*

Question

Where should we fly into?

Answer

The wedding will be at Killeen Castle in Dunsany, which is about 30 minutes from Dublin. We recommend flying into the Dublin airport for the wedding, but hope that our family and friends can spend some time exploring the charming country of Ireland! Our ultimate wish is that you are able to make a vacation out of it and enjoy the trip of a lifetime!

Question

When should I fly in?

Answer

We plan to have a welcome gathering the evening of Saturday, the 29th. Sunday will be a day of prep before the wedding. We understand things are tricky with our wedding being on a Monday, so our suggestion would be to fly in Friday, early Saturday or Sunday for the Monday celebration! TBD at this time on whether or not we'll have a post-wedding celebration with everyone on Tuesday, but we will update the website as plans are solidified.

Question

Can we stay at the venue?

Answer

We are planning to stay at the venue with our immediate family. Because our families are so large, that will take up the majority of the guest rooms. We've included a list of great some options nearby on the 'travel' portion of this website. Most of them were referred to us by our wedding coordinator. Please take a look!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

In late May, Dublin experiences mild and pleasant spring weather, generally considered one of the best times to visit with high sunshine levels. Expect average daily highs around 60 degrees. It's certainly not swim suit weather, but should be beautiful... That's what we're manifesting. While May is relatively dry, we are told we should always prepare for unpredictable, light, and passing showers. (Aka bring a rain jacket/umbrella)

Question

Is there Uber/Lyft?

Answer

Unfortunately, there is NOT Uber and Lyft. They do have an app called "Free Now" that works like Uber, however. We are hoping to have a shuttle/bus to take people from the wedding. That is something we're currently working on, so stand by for more information on that...
