Our story begins in 2016, our freshman year of college. A week before school started, we met quite unromantically at a dorm party. Stephanie's best friends happened to live next door to Michael and his roommates, and in true freshman-boy fashion they invited themselves over. We met, we sang karaoke, and what started as a chaotic first impression turned into an easy, natural friendship. Over time, that friendship became the foundation of the relationship we cherish today. We started dating in 2017, and since then, we have had the privilege of growing up together. We’ve learned, stumbled, celebrated, supported each other, and built a life we’re proud of. We’ve seen the best and hardest parts of life side by side, and every year has brought us closer. During college, we loved spending our vacations skiing with friends and family in Colorado. In March of 2023, we went on a ski trip in Breckenridge with Michael's family, and on the last day of the trip Michael got down on one knee at the top of peak 7 - in a blizzard, no less - and proposed. We got engaged right before Stephanie started PA school in Fort Worth. At first, we tried to plan a wedding from two different cities — with Michael working in San Antonio and Stephanie adjusting to school 4.5 hours away — but the distance and the timing made the process feel heavy rather than joyful. So we chose to step back, prioritize school, and wait until we could give this celebration the joy and attention it deserves. Now, after surviving PA school, 6 years of long-distance, and getting far too acquainted with I35, we’re finally able to create the wedding we’ve been dreaming of. We can’t wait to celebrate this next step with the people who have been part of our journey.
