Maymont is a Richmond must-see, with its beautiful gardens and grounds, the Maymont Farm, the Virginia Wildlife Trail, featuring the fabled Richmond bear! (Blaise thought for years it was a fake teddy bear they hid in the back of the enclosure!) It’s an incredible place to enjoy a lovely stroll and immerse yourself deeply in the beauty and abundance of nature, all in a peaceful and serene setting.
The Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens provide another opportunity to explore beautiful gardens full of flowers, native and foreign plants, and much more! We have always loved visiting. Our most recent visit involved countless wildlife and a red-shouldered hawk!
The VMFA in Richmond offers an exceptional collection of art, ranging from ancient to contemporary works, and often has ticketed, breathtaking special exhibits. Admission is free, and a paid parking deck is located on-site, making it easy to visit! We have gone on numerous occasions and have always loved going.
Travel back to the 1920's and 1930's with this beautiful Art Deco restaurant, and Richmond staple. This restaurant features a beautiful and timeless ambiance and atmosphere, and is one our favorite places to enjoy fine dining. On the night we got engaged, we had a romantic dinner here to celebrate!
