How Our Story Began

Of all the moments that followed a world pressed pause, ours began with a simple swipe. Just after the COVID restrictions lifted, when life was slowly finding its rhythm again, Ashley and Joseph met on OkCupid—two people ready for something real, even if they didn’t yet know what it would look like. What started as messages on a screen quickly felt like something more: easy, comforting, and unmistakably special. Ashley, after losing her father to cancer and ended a 3 year relationship wasn't looking seriously unless something or someone made sense. Joseph after going through an "on again, off again" relationship for 3 years, felt this was his last chance for something real. Meeting in a modern situation, they both decided to take a leap of faith into something new with each other. Their first date was at Buffalo Wild Wings—unpretentious, warm, and full of laughter. It was the kind of night where time moved gently, and by the end of it, they shared their first kiss, sealing what they both already felt: this was the beginning of something meaningful. From there, everything unfolded with a sweetness that felt natural rather than rushed. On their third date, Joseph asked Ashley to be his Valentine—a simple question filled with so much intention. By the fifth date, he asked her to be his girlfriend, and without hesitation, she said yes. What surprised them both most was how clear everything felt. In a short amount of time, Ashley made the brave choice to move and be with Joseph—a leap guided by trust, love, and a deep sense of “this is home.” Their love grew not in grand gestures, but in certainty—in knowing they had found their person. After several years together there was no formal proposal, because there didn’t need to be one. Instead, they chose each other in the most honest way: through a shared decision to spend their lives together. They wed in a quiet, private elopement, surrounded only by their closest friends—an intimate celebration that reflected exactly who they are and the love they share. What began online turned into a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and partnership. Today, they celebrate not just a wedding, but the simple, beautiful truth that love doesn’t always arrive with spectacle—sometimes, it just arrives right on time. 🤍
