Question

What is the attire?

Answer

For the welcome dinner, your best western get up is encouraged! Throw on your blue jeans and strut your cowboy boots. For the day of our wedding, Formal.

Question

Got my cowboy hat and boots but give me a little more detail for the Welcome Party?

Answer

Think Western/ Mountain Chic. Ladies- more casual, summer dresses. Nice, dark jeans and cute tops are ok too! Gentlemen- Nice, dark jeans. No tie necessary, but bolo ties are fun here. Sport coats or blazer are optional. Cowboy boots and hats are encourages for all (however, optional.) We'll be outside under a covered pavilion so bring a wrap.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

Where are we registered?

Answer

Zola, Bloomingdales, and Amazon

Question

What's the weather like?

Answer

Colorado weather will keep you on your toes! You can expect temperatures in the mid 70s in late July. The sun is close in the mountains so this will feel HOT, but there is often some cloud coverage that is very pleasant. Be prepared for a potential short and fleeting rain or thunderstorm, but this will usually pass in 20-30 minutes. Pack an extra layer for at night around the campfire.

Question

What is Altitude Sickness and how to avoid it?

Answer

We are so glad you asked! Denver is known as the "Mile High City" since the altitude is 5,280 ft and Winter Park is at or above 9,000 ft in elevation. We are aiming for all guests to arrive happy and hydrated- but altitude sickness affect about 20% of travelers. Symptoms include: headaches, nausea/vomitting/diarrhea, difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, fatigue, and shortness of breath How to avoid: -Water, water, water- drink 2-3x as much water as you usually do the day of traveling, while traveling, and while you are in CO. -Eat foods high in potassium- foods such as broccoli, bananas, avocado, celery, chocolate will help you replenish electrolytes by balancing salt intake. -Limit caffeine and alcohol the first day -Take it easy physically- your ability to breath is lower at altitude, think 3 mile run instead of 5 mile run

Question

Will transportation be provided if we are not staying at Devils Thumb?

Answer

Please note there are no Lyft/ Ubers in the area. You can call a taxi and sometimes that is successful, sometimes not. We're looking into a shuttle to the ceremony and 1 after reception and again 1 after the after party. Check back for details!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

As much as we love your kids, we want you to enjoy the night off! We are not having kids attend the ceremony and reception. If you choose to make a vacation out of this trip and would like the kids to come for the weekend, we are happy to help arrange a babysitter for the day of our wedding!
