~Fate is often defined as the development of events beyond a person’s control, determined by a force of destiny. It suggests that certain events or outcomes are inevitable and that a higher power has a plan or path that people unknowingly follow. Our story was a path we didn’t know we were on until it led us to each other.~ Two years ago, Blair’s sister, Brittany, attended a bridal fair for her own wedding and met Justin’s family, who were advertising their businesses of wedding décor and their mobile bar. Brittany, wanting an intimate and woodsy setting, asked which venue they used to advertise their décor as it was perfect for what she had been looking for. The “venue” was Justin’s parent’s family home which they graciously invited Brittany to use. Through the wedding planning, Blair became quite close with the Beskeen family and mentioned that she would love to remain close with them even after the wedding concluded. The night of the wedding, Blair went to the bar for a drink. Dee, (Justin’s sister-in-law) mentioned they still had one brother who was single, and would love to give him Blair’s number if she was interested. Very coyly, Blair shrugged her shoulder and walked away, but then turned over her shoulder and yelled out her phone number. The next afternoon, Justin reached out to Blair (he claims he would’ve done it sooner but didn’t want to seem desperate). From the first conversation, there was something undeniable. Justin invited Blair to come to Chico and planned an entire day for them to spend together. This first date started at their favorite winery, New Clairvaux. What started as instant attraction and chemistry, quickly turned into two people not only becoming best friends but falling in love as well. A year and a half later, Blair was at brunch with the girls, when they suggested the next stop to be New Clairvaux for a wine tasting. To Blair’s surprise, Justin and Tallon were patiently waiting for her arrival, and Justin asked Blair to be his wife. ~As we reflect on our story and the life we have already built with each other and with our families, we feel incredibly blessed by the serendipitous way our paths crossed leading us to each other.
