Even though dating apps were becoming very popular in 2018, Blair and Colin’s relationship started the old fashioned way: getting set up by a mutual friend. The two had known of each other socially while in undergrad at Pitt, and were even friends on Instagram, but had never officially met. It wasn’t until Blair needed a date for her sorority formal that they were connected. Blair was trying to figure out who to ask with her friend Maddie, and Colin’s name came up in conversation. Maddie, who was dating her now husband Will, immediately said “YES” and told Blair that Colin was Will’s roommate and was single.  The formal was on Friday, April 13, 2018 and despite the date’s spooky vibes, it was a success. Colin arrived to Blair’s infamous college house and was greeted by her in a haste as she tried to host a huge pregame. The two somehow made it on time to the event at PNC Park, home of the Pirates, and wound up having a great first date. So much so that they started hanging out nearly every day the final two weeks of school before the summer. They continued talking after school, including a few visits to Doylestown before Blair went away to Spain for a study abroad program. After she returned, the two went out to Pittsburgh for a weekend and made their relationship official. They continued dating through senior year of college and made the “long distance” between Somerville and Doylestown work after graduation and through COVID. Blair moved to Philadelphia in the summer of 2020 for grad school at Temple, and after Colin visited nearly every weekend for a year and a half, she convinced him to join her in the city in 2022. They lived close by to each other in Northern Liberties/Fishtown and then moved into their current apartment in Washington Square West the summer of 2023. They added Peep, a six-year-old tuxedo cat, to the family in April of 2025, just before Colin surprised Blair with a long-awaited proposal in the garden across the street at Pennsylvania Hospital on May 24, 2025. After being together for eight years, the couple felt it was only right to get married close to both of their homes in Peddlers Village and have Maddie as their officiant for a full circle moment.
