Blaine lived at the apartments Shannon worked at, and being the super extroverted type introduced himself to her one day when he came into the office to pay his rent. The two connected via social media and stayed friends for years, growing increasingly close as time continued. After 5 years, many dinner and movie "not dates," and countless nights of binge-watching The Office and Parks & Rec, best friends eventually turned into boyfriend and girlfriend. The rest is history.
Shannon's only request for a proposal was to have the memory captured on camera (and not an uber zoomed in iPhone picture where the couple could hardly be identified). Blaine didn't disappoint. The moment he decided to pop the question, he and Natalie Miller (the photographer Shannon was constantly raving about) sneakily planned the perfect proposal. He arranged to have Shannon's son get root beer floats (his favorite) that day while the two of them went on a lunch date to Tsunami. When they came down the elevator and out the doors, he grabbed Shannon's hand and dropped to one knee. Natalie was hiding around the corner to capture the entire moment on camera.
