Blaine and Lauren met at iPad training the summer before their freshman year of high school. Blaine would say it was "love at first sight," but it definitely took Lauren some time to come around. Flash forward to junior year and Blaine's feelings for Lauren became known when their teacher asked him to read a poem he had written in front of their English class. The poem was supposed to be about National Pi Day as it was March 14, 2017, but Blaine had actually written a love poem about Lauren. Needless to say, word travels fast at a small school. Later that year, Blaine asked Lauren to prom by covering her car in sticky notes, but they agreed to go "just as friends." They remained friends over the next year, talking and hanging out more and more. Things came to a head in January of 2018 on St. Thomas's March for Life trip in Washington, D.C., when Lauren finally decided she liked Blaine as "more than a friend." Shortly after, they started dating! Blaine asked Lauren to senior prom, this time as a couple, and they won prom king and queen. They survived "long distance" for six years while Blaine attended LSU for undergrad then law school and Lauren attended SLU for undergrad and grad school. On March 29, 2024, Blaine finally popped the question! Though their story took time to come together, God had a plan for them. Blaine and Lauren cannot wait to continue this journey together, with God at the center.
