One random Wednesday night, Dalton and Shelby both swiped on each other on a common dating app. Shelby was working late in Clearwater and Dalton just got off work in Tarpon Springs. The conversation was easy and natural. They joked around, got to know each other and Shelby asked him how spontaneous he is, on a scale of 1-10. His response, about an 8. (If you know Dalton, you know that is reaching, haha!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dalton asked her to dinner after work Thursday night. Dalton, gentleman as always, picked the restaurant closest to Shelbys house in Wesley Chapel. Dalton asked her what she liked to eat and drink, then decided on Glory Day, still one of Shelbys favorite spots. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two old fashions, a margarita and tons of conversations they both felt the mutual feeling of connection. After that night, they never left each other’s sides.

The beginning of 2020 was a rough year. Between changing jobs, stresses of COVID and personal reasons between the both of them, they decided that for their mental and emotional health, they should stay best friend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They were together for each other’s awesome highs and the really bad lows. Both grew up, changed and become better versions of themselves.

After being best friends for a little more than 2 years, Dalton would still come over to have dinner and hangout with Shelbys family. Shelby would go and hang around his family and all of Daltons childhood friends. Shelbys father, Mike, always joked with Shelby saying she would date Dalton. Daltons family and friends knew how in love he is with Shelby and tried to get him to ask her out again. Shelby wanted to have goals achieved and aspirations set before she hopped back into a relationship and Dalton respected that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One week on their daily FaceTime calls, Shelby started to feel those butterflies. You know, the icky love ones. She couldn’t stop smiling throughout her day, she was always happy and eager to talk to Dalton. Not that she wasn’t before, but this feeling was new. One evening she invited him over and they were just talking. Shelby told Dalton that she is falling in love with him. Dalton, wasting no more time, asked her out on a date that night. April 18th 2021 Dalton officially asked Shelby to be his girlfriend. November 13th 2021 He asked her to be his future wife. Now November 12th 2022 They will become each other’s forever.
