Question

Style Guide ✨

Answer

We are excited to celebrate our love with you at our garden cocktail wedding! We'd love to see you all dressed up. Color and pattern encouraged, so have fun with it, and don't worry about going too over the top! We want the day to look as joyful as it feels. For those who appreciate a color palette for guidance, you may find our wedding colors above. If you prefer to wear black, that's fine too! We know you'll look fabulous regardless. We kindly ask for no shorts, t-shirts, or jeans, please. As tradition, white (and variations of white) is reserved for the bride only. We're looking forward celebrating this special day together.

Question

The Persian Ceremony Explained

Answer

As part of a traditional Persian wedding ceremony, the couple sits in front of the Sofreh Aghd, a beautifully curated spread that symbolizes love, unity, and prosperity. Set before the couple during the ceremony, the Sofreh is adorned with meaningful items such as a mirror (reflecting light and the future), candles (representing energy and clarity), honey (for sweetness in life), and many other symbolic elements rooted in Persian culture. During the Aghd ceremony, the couple is guided through a series of traditional rituals including a honey exchange (symbolizing the sweetness they will share in their lives) and a sugar blessing (family members and friends grind sugar cones over the couple's heads, showering them with blessings for a sweet and happy future).
