Flight
There are 3 airport options to get to SMA. As the majority of our guests will be coming from Atlanta, we've detailed the following options starting at ATL airport: 1. Queretaro (QRO): Fly to QRO via Delta (connecting through Mexico City - MEX) or via American (connecting through Dallas - DFW). Once in Queretaro, it is about an hour drive to SMA. 2. Leon (BJX): Fly to BJX via Delta (connecting through Mexico City - MEX) or via American (connecting through Dallas - DFW). Once in Leon, it is a 1.5hr drive to SMA. 3: Mexico City (MEX): Delta has 5 daily direct flights from ATL to MEX. Once in Mexico City, it is about a 3 hour drive to SMA. Refer to "Transportation to SMA" for suggestions on how to get from the airport to SMA. NOTE: We are having a "traditional" Mexican wedding, which means the fiesta on Saturday will last until 2-3AM! If you have to head back home on Sunday, please consider selecting an afternoon flight OR spend the day with us and fly home Monday!
Rental Car
There are a variety of options to get from the airport to the beautiful city of San Miguel de Allende (and back home): 1) BajioGo - this reliable company offers an affordable door-to-door option with their shared shuttle (starting at $25 per person). They greeted us at the airport using a sign with our names. Great option if you are traveling alone or with a group! 2) Transporte Chava Patlan - if a private car is more your speed, we would love to recommend this company. We have used Chava's services numerous times on our visits to SMA. Contact him via email: chava_viajespatlan@hotmail.com or call him at +52 (1) 415 103 9439 3) Another private service that comes highly recommended is https://www.sanmiguelxperience.com/transportation . 4) Some hotels offer a shuttle / pick up service, which you can arrange ahead of time with your hotel concierge. We do not recommend renting a car. San Miguel is a relatively small dense town with narrow, cobblestone streets.
