Austin and Audrey met like a lot of couples their age--online! While swiping left, and left... and left again, passing the time with a glass of wine after a shift at Audrey's second job, she paused on Austin's profile. Yes, Audrey made the first move (maybe it was the wine). Austin was sick in bed but once he saw the alert something in his gut (maybe the food poisoning?) told him he needed to "swipe right" too. At their first date, Austin procured two open stools at a upscale cocktail lounge called Victor Bar. Although Victor Bar is a great cocktail spot, neither of them were often seen sipping $16 martinis. After about an hour of sipping classy drinks (and Austin pointing out Audrey had hardly touched her Old Fashioned) they both knew a dive bar called Simon's Tavern might be more their speed. This was the bar Audrey spent nights with coworkers she had at the time, often with a Miller High Life in one hand and high five in the other. As soon as they walked in, they were greeted by colleagues of Audrey's, and Austin listened politely to a line cook talk about rhubarb gastrique for a half hour: Audrey realized Austin could hang. Fast forward two years, and on Feb 7th, 2020, Austin surprised Audrey at Victor Bar with the best question anyone had ever asked her, "Will you marry me?" After Austin finished Audrey's untouched Old Fashioned, they went to Simon's where 30 of their closest friends were waiting to celebrate their engagement with them. With a High Life in each hand, and the others clasped together (with a shiny rock on her ring finger to boot--thanks Julie!) they celebrated into the wee hours of the night. Although 2020 has brought upon many challenges, they can't wait to start their next chapter on August 13, 2021 with you all (safely) by their side.
