Our love story was made possible thanks to an amazing summer job program for Detroit youth. We both spent years in the program yet our paths never crossed until a random Summer day in Pittsburgh back in 2011. No sparks, no magic, nothing memorable, barely a conversation. But on May 5th, 2016, thanks to an unexpected Facebook message from Kevin we finally became more than just a couple of strangers who happened to have a ton of mutual friends. Facebook conversations blossomed into text messages. Text convos escalated to phone calls and eventually we had our first official date on July 3rd. More dates and hanging out followed. And on September 17th, 2016, Bianca’s Birthday, we officially entered into a relationship. A heck of a lot of stuff has happened between then and now including time apart to grow, loss, lessons, and most importantly, the development of a beautiful Christ-centered love and friendship between the two of us. On June 7th, 2020 we officially got engaged. And on October 15th, 2020, the two of us exchanged vows in Detroit in the backyard of our new home. Our journey to marriage has been quite eventful yet we are thankful for all the joys and sorrows, the highs and the lows, the moments full of laughter and the memories that bring tears, because they have pointed us to the sovereign God who is the maker of all good things; including the good gift of marriage. We are eternally grateful for the Lord’s great love, grace, and mercy that has changed us, redeemed us, and that will enable us to die to ourselves daily so that we may glorify God in our marriage. We are also extremely grateful for each and every one of you. In some way, form, or fashion your story is a part of our story. You have been a part of our journey individually and/or collectively, directly or indirectly. And that is why we would have loved to celebrate with you at our reception if we weren’t in the middle of a pandemic.
