We had woken up late, but we still wanted to go to the park, as it was the last warm day for at least a week, and Brandon wanted to show me the trees before all the leaves fell off. So, we packed a blanket, a small lunch, and made plans to stop at a boba shop to get drinks. The walk was pleasant, and the scenery was beautiful. When we got to the park, it was honestly the most beautiful park I had ever seen, and I took plenty of pictures for my family. We sat, we ate, we talked about the days Brandon spent at this beautiful park so close to his home. We talked about the parks I went to back at home, and we joked about the park we would take our future kids. After eating, Brandon wanted to show me more of the park, talking about the lake he liked to visit, and we both hoped it hadn't been drained for the season. We walked to the lake to see.... It fenced off for construction. We laughed, and Brandon said his luck must truly be terrible. We walked instead towards a small flower garden, and Brandon said from behind me that he hoped to take me here last, but our options were limited since there was so much construction going on. I laughed, and looked at the flowers, agreeing that this would be a perfect view to end our trip to the park. I pulled out my phone and snapped more photos, wanting to remember the view, and wanting to show my family. From behind, Brandon steered me towards a gazebo in the center of the flower garden, and I walked in, happily taking photos. Then I knew. I turned slowly, because even though I had been wanting this for over a year, I suddenly became anxious. But there he kneeled. Waiting for me, patiently. I could feel myself start to cry, and I dropped my purse.
