Bj and Lucretia met on the floor of Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas as brand-new baby nurses, navigating the chaos of night shifts and endless cups of coffee. From the start, they just clicked. Bj was the funny jokester, always ready with a dad joke to lighten the mood, while Lucretia was the fun, yet serious one—always keeping things in check, but never missing a chance to laugh at his jokes. It didn’t take long for them to become inseparable—having side by side patient runs, sharing meals, and building a friendship that felt easy and effortless. Everyone noticed their connection… except for them. For two years, they were the best of friends—traveling, supporting each other, and laughing through the highs and lows. When Bj first asked Lucretia out, she actually said no. She didn’t want to risk ruining their friendship. But Bj was persistent, he stuck around, and over time, Lucretia realized that what they had was too special to ignore. Eventually, she gave him a chance—and she’s so glad she did. Fast forward 3.5 years later, a crazy pupper (Dashy), travel nursing, and moving back to California together, on August 24, 2024 (Kobe Day 💜💛), Bj proposed in their favorite city, Monterey, California. Though Lucretia had a pretty good idea it was coming (Bj didn’t exactly do a great job at hiding it!), the proposal still took her breath away. He and their closest friends and family (shout out Patricia, Jason, Crystal, Rick, Dashy, Lydia & Ryan) decorated their hotel room with flowers, candles, and a live violinist playing their favorite songs as she walked in. She was in tears, believe it or not. And just when Lucretia thought it couldn’t get more perfect, Bj surprised her again—with an engagement party to celebrate with everyone who’s been part of their journey. Now, they’re stepping into the next chapter of their love story, and they couldn’t be more excited to share it with all of you.
