We were in Paris with our Moms and some of the Patnode clan. Glen told me that he had arranged a special dinner at a local restaurant. We put on our blazers and walked from our hotel near the Opera House, down to the Seine, then up the Champs Elysees. Took a left at one point and ended up at Alain Ducasse, a 3 Star Michelin restaurant. We had a wonderful meal. I kept waiting for him to tell me what we were celebrating (assumed it was an early birthday) but he never said anything. After dinner we strolled back to the hotel through the streets of Paris, taking a few side trips to checkout some of the beautiful well-lit Beaux-Arts buildings. We got back to the hotel and I sat on the bed to remove my shoes. Glen was suddenly on his knees, with a ring box. I was quite surprised, since we had agreed that we didn't need to get married. Of course I said yes, Since we had just closed on the house in Kenwood, we agreed that we would re-do the backyard and hold the wedding there. Fast forward a year and 3 months, we were a couple weeks from having the backyard complete and getting started on Wedding plans, when the Sonoma fire swept through and destroyed the house. We are now very excited to be a month or two away from moving into the new house and are actively planning this wonderful event.
