What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding day is formal. We ask that men wear a dark suit or a tuxedo if desired and that women wear a floor-length or tea-length evening gown. Please note, depending on weather, the ceremony will be outside, while the reception will be a combination of indoor and outdoor settings - including a patio and a lawn during cocktail hour. It is October in Connecticut so temperatures can range from 50 to 70 degrees.

Are there reserved room blocks?

Answer

Yes, there are reserved room blocks at the Courtyard by Marriott Hartford Cromwell and the Residence Inn by Marriott Hartford Rocky Hill. The room block name is under Bissell & Chiu Wedding.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the Wadsworth Mansion between 5:00pm and 5:15pm EST to allow for ample time for parking and getting seated before the procession.

Is the ceremony an unplugged ceremony?

Answer

Yes, we have hired a professional photographer to capture our special day and ask that you do not use your cell phones during the ceremony. However, you are more than welcome to take photos and videos of the rest of the night!

Are children allowed at the wedding?

We have chosen to make our special day an adults-only celebration to ensure all guests, especially parents, can fully immerse themselves in the joy of the occasion. We hope this advanced notice means you are still able to join us for our big day! Your understanding means the world to us, and we can't wait to celebrate with you.

Can I bring a plus one?

We kindly ask that only invited guests attend our wedding festivities. You'll find the details about your party size, including whether it includes a plus one, on your invitation. We truly appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

We are not providing transportation to and from the events, but the ceremony and reception are in the same location and there is plenty of parking available. If you do not wish to drive, we suggest taking an Uber or Lyft.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Heck yeah! We will be offering a full open bar of wine specially selected by the Father of the Bride, beer, and spirits.
