Our Origin Story

Love Endures All Things

Meagan and Zach first met working for the same company, in the summer of 2016, in Atlanta, GA. However, it wasn’t until they were both working at a completely different company, in a completely different city, that they started dating. That was the summer of 2017 in Memphis, TN. This time, they were sitting just 3 feet apart. This time, fate wasn’t going to let them get away. They initially bonded over camping, kayaking, working on their frisbee skills, and oh… the job they had to show up to every day. As time went on, and their relationship grew, they started to realize they had a lot more in common than they thought. Oldest siblings. Competitive natures. Gamers. Athletes. But what probably linked them closer than anything else was FAMILY. They both highly value and deeply love their families. As the years went on, they began to love each other’s families as much as they loved each other. Then, the pandemic hit. Of all the trials and tribulations that any relationship goes through, this was the most unforeseen. A young couple, now forced to spend every waking moment with each other because everything else was shut down. Surely, they would drive each other mad. Instead, Meagan picked up the guitar, Zach started on the piano, and they found ways to entertain themselves, and continue growing. They wrote songs and played them to an audience of two dogs in the living room. They found new game after new game, creating two-player tournaments and competitions – always keeping score of course. They began a fitness journey and spent more time at the dog parks (the pups had no social distancing rules). It became very clear; nothing was going to pry these two apart. It was always going to be a forever thing. As the pandemic slowly went away and life returned to normal, Meagan and Zach realized there was one thing still missing in their lives. One thing they both loved. The beach. One visit to Tampa, FL in 2021 was all it took. They loved the city and moved in January of 2022. It was not an easy decision for the couple to make. They weren’t going to be near any family anymore. They didn’t know anyone in the city, and they didn’t really know where to start. They agreed, though, that if they had each other, it was all going to work out. And did it ever. Zach immersed Meagan into one of his oldest loves – hockey. She became a Lightning fan and often suggests going to games even before Zach can. He loves seeing how happy she is inside the arena. Meagan was able to get Zach on her favorite band – Fall Out Boy. She turned him on to the new albums and they even went to a concert together. She loves it when he sings it in the car now. Of course, they also love and cherish the opportunity to live by the beach. They think ice cream tastes a little better, and palm trees have the innate ability to lift your mood, even if you see them every day. Most importantly to them, though, the journey to Florida has led them to a life in Jesus Christ. Maybe it was how much they missed their family. Maybe it was the thought of starting their own. Together, they committed to growing yet again. Looking back on their journey, it is clear to them both that God was always going to bring them together. Not once did He ever give up on them. These days, you can find them both leading youth groups at their church during the week. It has been through a lot already, but they both know the story of Meagan and Zach is only just beginning. If they could express how much love they have for each other in words on a page, it would be written right here. But since they can’t, you’ll just have to join them on December 7th to see it for yourself. They can’t wait!
