It wasn't love at first sight, but I did think Andrew tweeted some very funny things. We met in a journalism class at Morehouse College. I was one of two Spelman students cross-registered for the class. (It wasn't for the guys, it was for education!) Majority of the class followed each other on twitter... and I immediately thought Andrew made the best jokes. Some tweets, some BBMs (y'all remember blackberry phones?), and millions of text messages later, I still think he is absolutely hilarious, and even more importantly loving, compassionate, thoughtful, generous, and the kindest person I know. (He can tell you how he thinks we met at a later date.)
My family and friends came together for the most perfect surprise proposal. The Saturday Andrew proposed, I invited my sisters and my mom over to help put up Christmas decorations. They were in such a rush to leave afterward. Little did I know, they had to get everything ready for the proposal just hours away. That evening, I thought I was getting dressed for a fancy dinner with Andrew's boss. Andrew even orchestrated "the restaurant" (aka my maid of honor, Chardenay) calling to say our reservation was pushed back. When we got there, I was shocked to see a photographer hidden away taking pictures of us! I turn around and Andrew is on one knee and gives me the most beautiful speech. All while the photographer snaps away. (Thank goodness, my bridesmaid, Symone, told me to do my make up nicely.) After my tearful yes, I realize all my family and friends were there to witness it and celebrate with us. And it's time for more celebrating! We can't wait to see you all in Atlanta!
