Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Brittany Bilodeau and Nathan Bjornberg
We know many of you will be extending your time on the east coast to include a visit to DC so this section will include a combination of things to do in Virginia and the District.
Morais Vineyards & Winery

Morais Vineyards & Winery

11409 Marsh Road, Bealeton, VA 22712
, (540) 326-6336

One of the fun things about Virginia is that there is a whole region of wineries to visit. Morais Vineyards is beautiful and just a 5 minute drive from our wedding venue.

Old Rag Mountain Loop

Old Rag Mountain Loop

2577 Nethers Road, Etlan, VA 22719

Old Rag is one of the most popular hikes in the Shenandoah National Park. It is a 8.6 mile hike that is rated as challenging. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.

Great Falls Park

Great Falls Park

9200 Old Dominion Drive, McLean, VA 22102
, (703) 757-3101

Great Falls Park is closer to DC than Old Rag and is much easier to navigate. It has beautiful views of the falls and picnic areas - Nate and I visit Great Falls all the time and we definitely recommend stopping by! Bonus: This area is not far from Tysons Corner Mall if you are in the mood to go shopping.

Tysons Corner Mall

Tysons Corner Mall

1961 Chain Bridge Rd, McLean, VA 22102

If you are in the mood for shopping while you are in the Northern VA area, we definitely recommend Tysons Corner. There are two malls next to each other Tysons I, which has a great movie theater, restaurants, and moderately priced shopping. Tysons II Galleria is right next door and features J.Crew, Anthropologie, and high end designer shopping options (e.g., Burberry, Chanel).

National Portrait Gallery

National Portrait Gallery

8th and F Streets NW, Washington, DC 20001
, (202) 633-8300

If you are going to visit a Smithsonian Museum, we highly recommend this one! The National Portrait Gallery houses the Hall of Presidents portraits and the famous Obama portraits. In fact, there are a number of Smithsonian museums in the area to check out! Bonus: The Portrait Gallery is right outside of the Chinatown/Gallery Place metro stop and is a block away from one of our favorite restaurants, The Smith.

The Smith

The Smith

901 F Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20004
, (202) 868-4900

This is one of our FAVORITE restaurants in DC. The Smith serves new American food and is nestled in Penn Quarter, which neighbors Chinatown.

Washington Monument/ National Mall

Washington Monument/ National Mall

1551 Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024

The National Mall is a great area to visit because there are so many monuments and museums along the mall - including the Washington Monument, The Capitol, National Museum of Natural History, Lincoln Memorial, etc. Bonus: The National Mall is a short Uber to the District Wharf, which has a ton of great restaurants to choose from.

District Wharf

District Wharf

1100 Maine Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

The Wharf is a really fun area on the water that has a ton of restaurants and is just downright beautiful to walk around.

Le Diplomate

Le Diplomate

1601 14th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009
, (202) 332-3333

Le Diplomate is one of the best French restaurants in the city and we absolutely recommend you stop by if you can. As a heads up, this is also one of the most difficult restaurants to get reservations at in the city - so book early!

For all the days along the way
