The “Hunt is Over”

It was love at first “swipe” ! Billy and Rachelle met during the height of the pandemic through an online dating website called Tinder. Rachelle made it a point to not swipe right unless there was a biography. Guess who didn’t have a bio- Mr. Billy Erhard. She saw that they lived just 1 mile away from each other and after talking via internet they decided to go on their first date. They met up at a local bar and grill called the Outpost. I don’t think they both knew that this was going to be the last date they would ever have ! They shared their compassion for hunting , talked about their families and told stories of their backgrounds. A few beers and three hours later they were in it for the long haul. Billy finally asked permission to give his number to Rachelle and they’ve been inseparable since. Things moved quickly for Billy and Rachelle, but they knew what they wanted. They both wanted to find someone to start a family with, someone to share new beginnings with, someone with same interests, and morals and somehow by the grace of God they met. They both hated the fact that they met online but it was meant to be! Fast forward to October 16th 2021. Billy had been talking about doing something fun that weekend just to get out of the house. He talked about maybe going for a walk by the river in Parkville. They hopped in the truck and Billy told Rachelle he needed to check his trail cameras at his sisters house first. Somewhat annoyed (because she wanted to go in that walk before the sun went down) but she didn’t say anything) she went along with him. They pulled up to Emily’s house and started walking towards the woods. Billy stopped in front of the dock and walked Rachelle down to a beautifully set table with flowers and champagne overlooking the pond. He got down on one knee and said the most heartfelt words that Rachelle can’t remember because she was completely blindsided! They enjoyed some champagne and later joined their parents for a celebratory dinner ! While a one year engagement seems so short to so many it felt like a lifetime for these two! They are excited to call each other husband and wife and to start their forever together !
