I have a botanical garden obsession, and this is one of the most beautiful ones I have been to. This is where the ceremony will be located, and we hope that you have some time to walk the gardens while you're there! You will have free access on Saturday the 18th before/after the ceremony as part of being one of our wedding guests. Please mention you're there with the Savage/Selden party!
If you have a bigger group or are coming with a large family, you could consider collaborating and renting a boat for the day! The lakes here are beautiful and one of my favorite days here with Billy was when we rented a speed pontoon boat and rode around all day.
Hot Springs is FAMOUS for their historical bathhouses. They have a variety of choices, I will list our recommendation separately, but I have heard so many good things about them all! This is the perfect opportunity to pamper yourself and make a spa day at one of the bathhouses. All of the water comes from the natural hot springs from the national park, and it truly is a wonderful experience! The water is said to have special minerals and healing powers... especially great for soaking those sore muscles from dancing all night long!
Beautiful views and tons of history to learn at this tower! My favorite was learning about Al Capone and the history of the gangsters in the area.
This is a great place to grab a drink or some food. This is the location we went to for a glass of champagne after Billy proposed!
This is the bathhouse that Billy and I visited on our first trip to Hot Springs. You can do a couples half day for about $400! This includes a special private bath in the hot spring water, a clay treatment, a one hour massage, steam shower and a mini facial... I was in heaven. It was also very romantic!
Apparently this place is THE place to be. When we have tried to go, there's been a wait, but we hear it's worth it! (also we're always the late risers, so maybe if you go early, you wont have to wait) I can't tell you how many times this place has been recommended to us. If you're looking for a yummy american style homemade breakfast place, this is where to go. It is also walking distance from the Arlington if you end up staying there
Great place for seafood on the lake!
I HAVE to mention this one because my two step brothers are McClard's and apparently this has some long distant relation to their family name! But aside from that, it is also coming up constantly as the BEST Barbecue in Arkansas. I'm from Texas and the barbecue is pretty amazing there, so I will have to see if it can compete!
This was my favorite place that we ate at while we were here. It's a cute german restaurant with delicious food and wine. Highly recommended!
I absolutely needed to touch a natural spring to see how hot the water was when I visited. Guess what? It's HOT! There are several fountain locations along Central Ave (one near the Arlington Hotel) where you can see the water and touch it. In my mind it's a definite must do.
